4월9일 유네스코 회의에서 본 이후로 오랜만이죠?
마이클 훼테씨에게서 임산물 무역에 관한 자료가 왔습니다. 다행히 우리에게 필요한 정보(가격, 생산물품, 러시아 측에서 담당할 회사, 수출입 물품에 대한 내용)가 담겨져 있어, 이 내용을 잘 정리해서 아름다운 무역을 만나면 될 것 같습니다.
그런데 한가지 상의드릴 일이 있습니다. 이건 저의 제안인데, 아직 표범 만원계에서 모은 돈을 어디에 쓸지 확정 짓지는 않은 것으로 알고 있습니다. 그런데 우리가 러시아 쪽만 생각했지 훈춘쪽은 생각하지 못한 것 같습니다. 실제로 러시아에는 다른 NGO들이 활동하지만 훈춘은 더욱 열악합니다. 호랑이가 소나 당나귀를 잡아먹어 버려서 훈춘지역 마을 주민들이 훈춘 자연보호구 간판을 부수는 등 인간과 호랑이, 표범의 갈등이 지속되고 있는 것 같습니다. 그래서 만원계의 돈을 그렇게 호랑이나 표범이 잡아먹어서 보상을 받지 못하는 사람들에게 대산 지불할 수 있도록 지원하는 것도 한 방법인 것 같습니다.
제 생각엔 아름다운 무역을 비롯 여러 방법을 타진해보고 우리의 돈으로 가장 시급히 필요한 곳을 지원하도록 결정짓는 것이 현명할 듯 싶습니다.

I am very sorry that it took me so long to give you more information about our NTFP project.
I have attached a document that describes the project. But it describes the NTFPs topics, not deer antler velvet.
It would be very, very helpful if you can find traders that want to buy NTFP products and Antler velvet. Some additional information is:
– My organisation Tigris and other the conservation NGOs involved will not NTFPs and Deer antler velvet ourselves: we only help to finance and organise the production of NTFPs, but other organisations will harvest and trade (= rural community organisations and Russian NTFP trade firm). But conservationists will check “Tiger Friendly” certification requirements.
– we work with a Russian company named Bio Farm. This firm has export licenses and export experience. So export is not a problem.
– we can provide samples of NTFPs and Deer Antler Velvet for Korean business firms that are interested.
– For leopard conservation, it is much more important to sell antler velvet than NTFPs (NTFPs is important mostly for tigers!)
