Report of the Nangi Village Project October 2004

친애하는 한국 후원인들에게
I am sending the second progress report
of the projects that we are doing in Nangi village and its neighborhood with
your support. This is late report and I am sorry for this. Even if this report
is coming late we have good news for all of you.
여러분들의 지원을 받는 낭기마을과 낭기의 이웃마을들에서 실행중인 계획들에 대한 제 2차 보고서를 보냅니다. 보고서가 늦어진데 대해서 사과 드립니다. 이 보고서가 늦어졌지만, 여러분 모두가 기뻐할 좋은 소식이 있습니다.
There are two reasons why I could not
send the report earlier. The first reason is that we could not work earlier to
build the sewing training house because of the monsoon season. It was raining
very hard and we have had difficulties to collect rocks and timber for the new
sewing training building.
좀 더 일찍 보고서를 보낼 수 없었던 2가지 이유가 있습니다. 첫째, 몬순계절이라 재봉교육건물을 짓기 위한 작업을 일찍 할 수가 없었습니다. 내내 억수같은 비가 내렸고 새 건물을 짓기 위한 석재와 목재를 수집하는데 어려움이 있었습니다.
The second reason was that the schools were closed for some time because the Maoists rebels called for strike. Now the school has opened. The followings are the report.
두 번째 이유는 마오이스트들이 파업을 요구하여 얼마간 휴업을 해야했습니다. 지금은 정상수업을 합니다. 다음의 글들은 보고서입니다.
- Nursery School Program :
1. 탁아소 프로그램
The nursery school programs in five schools are running smoothly now. We bought books
and stationeries for the nursery schools and
distributed them to the children and school. The cost of the materials we bought and the money we paid to four nursery schools is as follows.
5개 학교에서 탁아소 프로그램이 순조롭게 진행중입니다. 탁아소를 위한 책들과 학용품들을 구입했고 그것들을 아이들과 학교에 나누어 주었습니다. 우리가 구입한 물품들의 비용과 4개 탁아소에 우리가 지불한 돈은 다음과 같습니다.
- Text books and educational materials for 80 children – $250
- Donation made to four schools for teacher’s salary – $120
- Donation to build Waste material Dumping pit to four schools -$80
- Sewing Training Program:
- Construction of a new Building for sewing training:
1. 80명의 아이들에게 제공된 교재와 학용품-$250
2. 교사 봉급을 위해 4개 학교에 주어진 기부금-$120
3. 4개학교에 쓰레기 하치장을 짓기위한 기부금-$80

우리는 9월 10일에 탁아소 선생님들과 교장선생님이 모여 회의를 했습니다. 회의에서 각 학교는 아이들을 위한 운동장을 마련하기로 결정을 보았습니다. 또한 모든 학교에 쓰레기 하치장을 만들었습니다. 쓰레기 하치장으로 쓰일 웅덩이를 만들기 위해, 우리는 각 학교에 별도로 $20씩을 분배하였습니다.
2. 재봉교육 프로그램
We started sewing training program for the women from September 15. For the training we have eight sewing machines. There are 20 women from different villages taking the training. The trainees are divided in two groups with 10 women in each group.
9월 15일부터 여성들을 위한 재봉교육을 시작하였습니다. 교육을 위해 8대의 재봉틀을 보유하고 있습니다. 각기 다른 마을 출신의 20명의 여성들이 교육을 받고 있습니다. 교육을 받는 사람들은 10명씩 두 그룹으로 나누어져 있습니다.

재봉교육을 위해 우리는 낭기마을 출신의 한 여성을 강사로 고용했습니다. 그녀는 도시에서 8개월간의 교육을 받았습니다. 그녀는 아들이 한명있는 기혼여성입니다. 그녀는 토요일을 제외하고 매일 오전11시부터 오후4시까지 가르치고 $45의 월급을 받습니다. 우리는 그녀의 월급을 여러분들의 기부금으로 지불할 예정입니다. 그리고 아직은 시작하지 못했지만, 재봉교육에 관심이 있는 고등학생들을 대상으로도 교육을 할 계획입니다.
3. 재봉교육을 위한 새 건물 건설
Before the new sewing training building was built, we did the sewing training in the community meeting room for a few weeks. Therefore the villagers decided to build a new building for the sewing training.
새로운 재봉교육 시설이 마련되기 전, 우리는 몇 주 동안 마을 회의실에서 교육을 했었는데
마을 사람들이 재봉교육을 할 수 있는 새 건물을 짓자고 결정을 했습니다.

The construction of the building is complete now and the training program is moved to the new building. We will use part of the money that you will send this time to pay for some of the building materials that we bought for the new
sewing training building because we still have to pay some bills for the building materials. We will tell that in our next report.
이제 건물은 완공되었고 교육 프로그램은 새로운 건물에서 실행되고 있습니다. 이번에 보내 주실 돈의 일부를 새 건물 건축 자재 구입 비용으로 지불할 예정입니다. 우리는 아직 자재비 청구서들 중 일부에 대해 지불하고 있지 못합니다. 그 점에 대해선 다음 보고서에 명기할 것입니다.

Tree Plantation Program:
4. 식목 프로그램
Nangi School has an area of about 6 hectares. We had already planted some trees in the school area. There was more space left to plant trees. We also used about $50 for planting trees in Nangi School area. We planted 650 trees of different species.
낭기학교는 약 6헥타르의 땅이 있는데, 이미 예전에 몇 그루의 나무들을 심기 시작했습니다. 나무들을 심을 수 있는 공간이 많이 남아 있었고, 나무를 심는데 약 $50을 사용했습니다.
각기 다른 종류의 나무들을 650그루 심었습니다.
