Dear friend,

You are receiving this because your organization or publication has worked to promote awareness of the plight of the endangered Amur Leopard, and so I thought you might be interested in this action:

Save the Amur Leopard from the Siberia-Pacific Pipeline!
http://www.pacificenvironment.org/actionalerts/spp_leopard.htm

Please consider sending a letter (with a few clicks of the mouse) and linking your organization’s site to Pacific Environment’s web page about the action!

The Amur leopard, as you may know, is down to 30 or 40 animals in the wild. The construction of Russia’s Transneft Siberia-Pacific Pipeline adjacent to their habitat could be disastrous, and will certainly bring the cat closer to extinction.

The Russian federal government is currently debating the route of the pipeline, but Transneft has begun construction anyway. The government’s recent call to halt Transneft’s construction near Lake Baikal has not stopped Transneft from beginning work on the terminal point, near Kedrovaya Pad, the home of the Amur leopard. Now is the time to act to move the pipeline away from leopard habitat!

If you have already received this alert and have taken action, thank
you! Please consider sending this message on to your friends.

In solidarity behind the survival of the Amur leopard and all endangered animals,
