*Foundation for the Rights of Future Generations (www.srzg.de)– The Foundation for the Rights of Future Generations (FRFG) is a practice-oriented research institute on the interface of science and politics. In 1997, it was founded by a group of European students that worried about the future and wanted to promote intergenerational justice – both in terms of ecology and economy. To FRFG, intergenerational justice means that today’s children and future generations must be capable to meet their own needs and fulfil their rights and aspirations to at least the same extent as the generation governing today. Examples of present discrimination of the future generations include progressive ecological destruction, youth unemployment, national indebtedness. The Foundation wants to change this situation by breaking up the encrusted proportions in politics and by making the politicians get a move on. In this sense, FRFG realizes and conceives campaigns in close agreement to its sister organization Youth for Intergenerational Justice and Sustainability (YOIS). FRFG also received the Theodor-Heuss-Medal for its engagement.
